Instant Survey: How Do You Take Your Water?

When Lloyd gave us the DL on what I call "silly water" and Warren filled us in on the not-so-silliness of the bottled water industry - TreeHuggers turned out for the drink debate and posted lots of comments on the relative merits of various hydration sources. Clearly there is a huge market for the bottled stuff and with brands like Hope To Others pitched to treehuggery types like us, one might wonder who drinks from the tap these days?

Don't forget another option, which I think is a bit different: Filtered water out of the refrigerator in-door dispenser.
I prefer my water distilled, with the end product being vodka, gin or rum ;D
Don't see the option I use - refilling filtered water in some of the many US stores that have the equipment.
I have a well, and my water tastes better out of the tap then when it's filtered.
I have a Britta pitcher in my fridge, but less for the filtering and more because I like my water very cold!
I happen to have a water softener for in house water and a triple filtration system under the sink. We have been very happy with it. The only complaint is the cost of filters since it is not standardized and it seems the major suppliers operate on the razor blade economy. But it is still cheaper then bottle water (delivered or store bought).
What about those people in Bermuda (?) who collect water in their roof where it is UV treated (actually by the sun!) and then stored in their basements (where they can treat as they wish)???? You did not give these people an option...
That's what the comments are for :)
Can't have all possible options in the poll...
I let my water sit on the counter so the clorine evaporates, it's an aquarium keepers trick.
I agree with Carl. I didn't know what Water was, until someone told me it was a mixer that goes with my whiskey. Tap, generally.
Thanks for the tip, David, I didn't know that. How long do you have to leave it for and in what type of container?
I can't believe there are Treehuggers still drinking bottled water.
Until recently, I have been drinking tap water. Then I was reading about what flouride really does to the body. Our town puts a lot of flouride in the water so I've been drinking mostly bottled water.
the clorine trick doesn't work most places anymore because they use cloramine instead of clorine, it doesn't evaporate, you can get declorinator stuff that also works with cloramine though,
i use a brita like filter that ataches to my fuacet,it is not brita brand though i think it is called pure or something, i like room tempurature water
i guess it's bottled water... i (along with much of los angeles) refil large bottles for 20 cents a gallon.
the water has been filtered with reverse osmosis which wastes a portion of the water in the process. maybe treehugger would like to cover the issues of reverse osmosis water filtration sometime?
