Over the years I have watched my dad's environmental attitudes evolve from those of a wise use movement devotee to those of an active hiker and neighborhood open-space advocate. As you can imagine, we have had many a lively debate about the environment (especially during the wise use years), and even though we do not share the same approach or always the same values we learn a lot from one another.
