It is with great excitement that we announce the new exhibition at the Craft Council opening its doors this thursday in London. Well Fashioned: Eco Style in the UK features 20 ‘green’ pioneering fashion labels from March 23rd til June 4th 2006 before touring the UK.
Ecologically and ethically sound clothes and accessories that ‘don’t cost the Earth’ such as Kate Fletcher’s compostable wedding dress and Terraplana’s Worn Again trainers can be found amongst bamboo, silk, hemp, biodegradable or recycled outfits by the UK’s cutting-edge designers.
It’s the first time that the UK’s fast growing eco-fashion industry comes together to present their green approach in using not only different, more eco-friendly materials but also in applying a more ethical approach to concepts and techniques within the fashion world. Thanks Kate for the tip! ::Well Fashioned ::images: B. Earley, Sital Hari & Sam Cook, Alison Willoughby, Terraplana & AntiApathy via the Craft Council’s web site
