Don't have it in you to shovel your way to a Quinzee just now? Want a break from all those consecutive weekends of homemade soap making? Here's a DIY solution that reuses old fabric (or socks, if you prefer) and gives rice something else to do. Rick, designer of my new favorite invention, freely admits that it's an odd time to promote a hand-warming device. Winter is on the way out, yes, but some areas endure finger-numbing cold through April, and two of the possible options involve no sewing. You could enjoy exceptionally warm hands in time for tomorrow's commute! Last month, I spent a silly amount of procrastination time searching for a device such as this, thinking there must be hats and gloves with capacities similar to the hull and rice wraps that allow me to keep the heat low and reduce my winter fossil fuel guilt. I could have spent the time on this simple project, instead! Via Rick at Instructables. :: Instructables Microwavable Mitten Warmers
