TreeHugger Picks: Building Materials Q&A
by Collin Dunn, Corvallis, OR, USA on 03.22.06

Our readers are an inquisitive bunch, and many have set out on their own to create their own TreeHugger dwellings (or improve the one they've already got) after asking us a little advice about building materials.
1) Brad wanted to know about where to start looking for prefab in LA.
2) Michael was after reclaimed lumber in Toronto.
3) Paul was on the lookout for some recycled or repurposed building materials in the Bay Area.
4) An anonymous reader wanted to know who could help make the interior of their retail store fresh and green.
5) Jeff needed some used lumber in NYC.

Also there's a beautiful kitchen and bath countertop and flooring durable surface material called IceStone made from 75% recycled glass, and free of petroleum based resins.
