Indeed, the talented and (forgive me if you don't share my enthusiasm) totally hot actor will be narrating "Design: e2," a series about "the economies of being environmentally conscious." Set to air in June, the program "explores the most complex issues facing our environment. From green architecture to water culture to organic farming to recycled clothes. Each episode tackles one of these topics in-depth and examines the challenges-but most importantly the solutions and the visionaries driving them." Lest my swooning give you the mis-impression that the series is a fluff take on the eco-principles we all hold so dear, check out the intriguing trailer at the Design: e2 website. Via: ABC News

Oh, can't resist the temptation to post some Fight Club Tyler Durden (which Pitt played in the movie) quotes! :) (wow, I'm the first to...)
"Man, I see in fight club the strongest and smartest men who've ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see us squandering it. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off."
and...
"In the world I see - you are stalking elk through the damp canyon forests around the ruins of Rockefeller Center. You'll wear leather clothes that will last you the rest of your life. You'll climb the wrist-thick kudzu vines that wrap the Sears Tower. And when you look down, you'll see tiny figures pounding corn, laying strips of venison on the empty car pool lane of some abandoned superhighway."
Phew, sorry...couldn't resist. See, he was already playing someone green...easy transition ;)
(well, somewhat green anyway ;) )
Wow, that trailer is really nicely done. Very promising. Their site says it launches fully on April 1st.
Also note at top of their page, a list of what looks like the topics for the entire series: DESIGN, WATER, ENERGY, FOOD, TEXTILES, TRANSPORTATION, BOTANICALS, HEALTH.
Fantastic!
If Brad Pitt is what it takes to get people to start paying attention - I'm all for it.
Please be kind enough to remind us when the program will air. here on this blog.
Thanks for keeping us in the loop.
Sorry for my English, I am Franco-American...
Cheer with Brad Pitt for its step... As long as there will be human as him which will sow "seeds of the possible", the man will end up understanding that what makes of him a man, they are not its origins, but these are the choices that it makes with his heart.
I have create with friends a new association which is called HUMANWORLDCITY and which is intended to encourage each one to defend a more human vision of our world.
Conscious of our responsibility, we carried out an itinerant architectural module presenting the last solutions as regards eco-construction and fair trade.
This instructive intended to circulate in various public places in the world, also bringing relieving and discovery of the human world, will also make it possible to sensitize general public on how TO LIVE IN HARMONY with our earth...
We need assistance to carry out this project. Then if Brad Pitt wishes to know some more and to see us in France, I am opened with all meetings...

generally i think if he can bring his fame to bring architecture and sustainability to the masses thats good enough for me.
Best show on PBS "design-e2"
As an instructor here in Washington State (I feel) the need for more information is high. I have presented this series to my students and feel that it has had a very good impact on their thinking of sustainability and the "greening" of building design.
I feel that all subjects and areas of college instruction should imcorporate "green Planning" and "sustainability" otherwise it will be segmented to just "those other areas" of instruction.
Brad, I'm so glad you are dong this. I think it is terrific and so wonderful of you. I wanted to ask you if you have heard of mobbing and gangstalking and if you could please look into it. There are many sites about it but one is www.StopOrganizedStalking.org and it tells a lot about what it is about and the victims of this, and I am one, really need help and need for this information to get out to the public. Most people haven't heard of it and don't believe it is happening but it is. They try to get their victims to commit suicide and my son, Paul, committed suicide in 2002 at age 28 and my daughter, who is now 40, and I are having a horrible time dealing with ths. Thank you.
How about someone actually talking about what they stand for which is hope and faith, and truth & love about other people, instead of all the bullshit you are on their site to profess?
