The Soup Peddler - Bicycle Delivery in Austin, TX

During the past few cold days here in the Northeast, we were actually very jealous of you folks down in Austin (and not just because of the warm weather) when we read about the Soup Peddler. Cyclist, environmentalist, chef, and foodie David Ansel (shown here) has been bicycle-delivering his yummy soups in Austin for three years. A proponent of the slow-food movement, Ansel tries to use seasonal, organic ingredients in all his soups as well as local produce. Today’s soups include Caldo de Pollo (Mexican Chicken Soup), Spinach & Artichoke Bisque, and Texas Chili. So, how can you become a “Soupie?” You can either sign up for their email newsletter or check their website to see what’s being offered each week (orders are placed for the following week). With hot soup delivered right to your doorstep we could use some home cooking today to warm us up. Plus, gift certificates are available so it makes a perfect gift to give to sick friends, new mothers or busy professionals. Thanks for the tip, Lascelles L.!
