Fast, Clean, and Ugly: Meet the Mullen GT EV

Hybrid Technologies, in a joint venture with Mullen Motor Company, will produce an electric version of the Mullen GT carbon fiber super car. The GT, that our friends at Jalopnik describe as “extra-ugly-with-a-side-of-hideous,” may not be the belle of the ball, but she’s not slow. The petrol version goes 0-60 in a smidge over 3 seconds with top speed of 180 mph. The electric is supposed to have similar stats. And if you doubt that an EV can be mean as hell, see this clip of the Wrightspeed X1 burning a Porsche and Ferrari in the track. :: Green Car Congress

I WANT A CONVERTABLE HYBRID! I'm waiting desperately for a sporty convertable hybride thats affordable.. I doubt I'll get my wish any time soon

It is butt ugly, isn't? It's only competition for the Venturi Fetish, which looks a lot sleeker, but is also priced double. Now let's see if Hybrid Technologies can deliver what they promise. It hasn't always been evident in the past. Maybe this new association with Mullen might put fresh meat in their claims. Oh, and you can always take a hybrid to a custom shop and have the roof chopped off to make a convertible... I've seen a few out there.

well it is a little on the homely side... and only $175K! your right, it is cheaper than the (way cooler) Fetish. Or that freaky 6 wheeler from Nippon..

I do like that it isn't a hybrid (despite the Co. name) and it is straight-up Li-Ion electric (great for commutes anyway, and now with those kickass 5 minute rechargable batteries from A123 road trips are doable again!!)

for the cheaper, more DIY version one can always go to Electro Auto-- the guy who made John 'Real Goods" Schaeffer's electric Porsche
