gizmodo-civic-hybrid-01.jpgCharlie White of uber gadget & electronics website Gizmodo has a short video review of the 2006 Honda Civic hybrid. He doesn't particularly focus on the green technologies of the car, but he does explain a few things about the powertrain and how the hybrid operations are visible from behind the wheel. It is short and sweet, check it out. ::Gizmodo - Video Review: 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid. I bought a 2006 Civic Hybrid two weeks ago, and even though I paid $1600 over MSRP, I could not be happier. The mileage is wonderful at an average of 45 mpg. It's got good acceleration for getting on the freeway, and is very, very comfy. Plus, the $3500 tax credit ain't bad neither.

I took delivery of my 2k6 HCH2 in early January. Nice little eco-commuter.

Tapia, just so you know, the tax credit for the HCH2 will probably be around $2100. The Prius will be getting a $3500 (approx) tax credit.

Hi Charlie,

Really nice review except for one thing...down south of the border (Australia) the 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid is rated at 4.6litres per 100klm, or in American speak...61mpg. I'm currently getting 51mpg with a mixture of city and freeway (peak hour congested) driving. On straight highway nearly 60mpg. So...what's the story? Oh...and by the way, petrol(gas) is over $6.00 a gallon!!!
