Team TreeHugger

Just had a quick look at your candidate for best european blog...
It looks terrible. Who made up the "walking ants" lines there?
And this awful "your name" almost everywhere...
You can't be the best blog in whatever category, if you care more about making money, than making meaning.
Sorry, but I just couldn't stop myself from writing this...
One point of contention - why are you guys endorsing Wonkette for best political blog? I would argue that she shouldn't even be in this category, as she's mainly a gossip columnist. Any of the other choices would be much better, as they've all been incredibly productive this year in breaking new ground, breaking new stories, and all around doing a great job asking the question that the MSM should have been. My personal suggestion? Crooks and Liars, who is innovating the use of vlogging.
I get a "this account has been suspended" for the bloggies link.
Kathleen,
Where did you see the "suspended" comment? When you tried to get to the Bloggies page? When you submitted your votes with your email address?
Everything worked fine for me...
Yes, when I tried to get to the Bloggies page, I just tried it again though and it worked.
At first, I was just slightly a tree hugger. More of a tree "pat on the back"-er. But now, I'm a full blown, nipple-splintered tree hugger! Thanks!
Awesome, Yatrik! Welcome home! :D
Congrats :) I was one of the 150 people voting for the finalists, and voted for you -- and will again :)
as is,
the blogs we suggested were highlighted as nepotistic suggestions from our pals. and wonkette fits that bill.
bartosz,
i think you may have missed the fact that the name "we make money not art" is meant to be cheeky. i know them and trust me, the last thing on their minds is making money. i encourage you to give them another chance.
thanks,
graham
graham-- it's great that a) you even offer nominations in other categories (check aroudn at other finalists asking peopel to vote for them.. aside from worldchanging, most are pretty self centered...) and also b) that you are transparent-ish about the nepotism stuff, it's cool that you have family props to the gawkerclan (and add World Changing who are not a part of Nick's domain,. right?)
but i do agree with As Is Wonkette pales in comparison to DailyKOS (where John Kerry has been busy guest-blogging and kicking serious A**) even if it is family...
Graham
Thanks to Your comment, I did give "We-Make-Money-Not-Art" another look.
And I must admit, I was wrong - they DO try to make meaning and they "make-money-NOT" ;-)
But still, I don't like their page's background and the "walking ants"...
And ... I did vote for them!
Best,
b.
Thanks Greenlagirl!
