zeit.gif In the 2005 Google Zeitgeist Nature category, the tsunami was the Britney Spears of natural phenomena. While Britney searches escalated at various points in the year (her pregnancy confirmation, the birth of her son), tsunami curiosity abated not long after the disaster. With rumors of separation or divorce on the horizon, it's likely that Britney interest will continue to spike variously in '06. Without another headline grabbing tsunami, it's unlikely that web surfers will have a reason to search.
