How about just not setting up a fur tree alter to a sun god for the holiday?

Could make things go easier for you.

A live cut tree. But a live cut tree from a managed forest only a few miles away from home. Also after Christmas the tree will be chipped and used for mulch in a local park.

12 inch tree for $8 in my apartment. I'm giving it to my mom and we'll plant it at her house in spring. We do it every year. :-)

Please learn how to conjugate your verbs in English. If you are referring to the second person singular, the correct archaic form is "art thou". If you are referring to the second person plural, the correct archaic form is "are ye".

Live rosemary tree, will be eaten post holidays.

And remember, in America, anyway, periods go INSIDE the closing quotation mark.

My apologies if you're British.

jump to top Anonymous says:

Carl Youngblood: please learn to get a life. And note that ''art thou'' doesn't rhyme, hence one possible use of ''are thee'' instead.

You need a choice for the Festivus Pole :)

No tree here, we're Jewish. Beeswax candles instead. :)

I came up with a new Winter Solstice tradition for my family. Stacking stones. We stacked pretty stones that we had collected at rivers and beaches up as high as we could and placed wishes written on paper) on the top of the stack for the wind to carry away.

I got the idea from a Buddhist tradition of stacking stones as a way of making prayers.
