Here are a few recommended websites.

Can I please make a request to all people who wear patchouli (or any cologne or perfume for that matter)? Please do not wear it so heavy that the people around you (or who come into a room you left ten minutes ago) feel like they are breathing a cloud of scent. It's disgusting, and triggers allergic reactions or headaches for many people, myself included.
I wish there was a "no" option that wasn't so critical. I have nothing against patchouli, I just don't prefer to wear it.
A little bit of patchouli goes a long way and it is very pervasive. I used to think it smelled good, but then I started associating it with the people who used it in lieu of bathing.
another no option should read "I used to, avidly, but then I clued in to how the rest of the world felt about it."
The language in this poll is really divisive. Are you trying to further exclude anyone who could be construed as a "hippie"? Because it's working.
I wear it sometimes. It takes me back to when some of the best women I have ever met were "hippie chicks"
What does patchouli have to do with treehuggers?
What a random poll. Should I know what patchouli is?
As a smell, I like it. It has unfortunate associations for me (a favorite of an ex) and for others (overuse and/or instead of bathing) so I don't wear it.
It's a shame, because it's a lovely scent, but there are lots of other lovely scents to wear.
I don't think I've ever smelled patchouli before, but why do so many people have an aversion to it?
odd I just put a smidge of it on today. I rarely wear it, just use it for homeopathy. However it's a lovely lighter smell if you use good quality essential oils, blend it with equal quantity geranium & a touch of lavender and used LIGHTLY (dilute a tiny amount in other lotions). I'm no scratchy hippy btw, I'm more modern classic with a touch of boho.
know what its actually relevant to have this poll here... itis very important for the new generation of treehuggers to be both respectful fo teh hippies who did support people like Fuller and Helen/Scott Nearing et cetera... but at teh same time distcnce oneself from that . No offence to any Rainbow hippies out there, but to turn the rest of the world on, you going to do that by freaking them out or making them feel you are desirable? Its very easy for a corpo head to dismiss a kid in guatemalan pants, drealocked and wearing patchouli (hey, that was me 1986!). Very easy. It is quite a different thing when they have just as nice a suit (but green) (and green dry cleaned) just as nice shoes (but cruelty free/vegan/rainforest grown rubber...) and have a cool ride (hopefully an EVT faux vespa).
hoe not tooo many hippies were hurt by this poll. i respect ya! and knwo that were it not for the work of our elders we wouldnt even have this fighting chance we now do... at the same time, you gotta change with the climes.. be a bit more proactive.. and if that means letting your freak flag fly at half-mast for a lil while... hey if it can get our carbon emissions down, thats worth it, right?
Patchouli smells like musty old couch.
I have to endure it in the apartment as my roomate uses it for scenting rooms. Please don't wear it. It's pungent and filthy smelling.
Even if it's a natural oil, it doesn't mean it's an enjoyable scent for everyone. The natural oil scents in the apartment make me sneeze and give me headaches. I'd rather smell clean scent-free air or a breeze coming in through the window than overwhelming, even lightly scented, rooms. Now THAT'S natural and enjoyable.
