Rika Pellet Stoves

Design & Architecture (interiors)

Rika Pellet StovesRika, a company based in Austria, makes these pellets stoves with an emphasis on aesthetics as well as function. The stoves have an appealing appearance, but also sport features such as microprocessor temperature-guided boiler adjustments and cellular phone remote activation (egads!). It doesn't seem there are any dealers for these stoves in the U.S. yet, but there are some other good-looking stoves available now. See our previous post on the popularity of wood pellet stoves this winter. :: Rika Pellet Stoves via

Please stop showing us stoves which we can't have here in North America. First it was the Topolino, now this. It looks great but I would think this would have a CRAZY price. I looked into the Topolino but it costs ~$5,500 in Europe without shipping or duties. I went to this site http://www.robeys.co.uk/pages/heating/stoves/atrio.php and you can see many of the Rika wood stoves. Look at the prices and remember that one pound sterling is currently about $1.77. Click on the link at Robeys for pellet stoves and be really surprised. I would love to have some of these stoves but most Americans won't be able to or want to pay these prices. I am looking for a wood stove due to oil heating uncertainties and I like the Cera-stove from Fred Seton's shop in Montana. Not pretty but a nice blend between amasonry heater and a wood stove, and reasonably affordable given the performance.

I can understand your frustration, but Treehugger.com is not a US-only website.

Could somebody direct me to websites or products that make electricity on a small scale from wood or bio-waste or farm manure? I have a small farm that has irregular power supply becuase of which we can never get any work done that requires power.

any idea how these are powered? something has to power the device that lights up and starts the burning process? I couldn't find any information on rika's site.

I too share the frustrations with getting these kinds of stoves in the states. This a perfect product for my situation and i wont be able to get it.
