Recycled Credit Card Necklace

by Kara DiCamillo, Newport, Rhode Island on 11. 2.05
Fashion & Beauty (accessories)

ccnecklace.jpg Since credit cards won’t decompose anytime soon in the landfill, why not figure out a way to use them? This cool pendant is made from a recycled credit card and then placed under clear glass. Colors may vary since each necklace is one of a kind and they are handmade in Massachusetts. $50 Via ::Uncommon Goods

credit cards are useful in the arts and crafts world. I know potters who use them as sculptin/throwing tools. and they are handy for scraping/squeegee-ing.

You can make something similar by getting the glass droplets that are sold at arts and crafts stores (used in fish tanks and potted plants) and gluing the credit card piece behind it with silicone glue that can be found in hardware stores (used for sealing drafts around windows etc). The glue dries clear and smoothes out the ridges on the flat side of the glass droplet.

Then you can make anything you want out of them… a mosaic, pins… the possibilities are endless.
