Patagonia's High Wire Hemp Jeans

by Justin Thomas, Virginia on 11. 7.05
Fashion & Beauty (clothing)

544188.jpgThese High Wire Hemp Jeans are from Patagonia. They're made from a blend of PCR (post-consumer recycled) polyester and exceedingly soft, breathable, resilient hemp. It's a supple fabric that drapes well and is quick to dry. There's more information here. The jeans are available from Altrec, REI, and other outdoor clothing stores for around $68. There's also a women's version available.

I bought these from REI a couple months ago. They look and feel great, but they are very light/thin. After just a few washings, the knees are starting to show noticable wear. It's too bad because for $70 I probably could have found 2 pairs of some more durable hemp jeans or pants. Oh well, I had to blow my REI gift certificate on somethin.

One of the great things about Patagonia, is that they guarantee everything they make. You can return your jeans to customer service or to a store. Just tell them you are dissatisfied with how the jeans held up, and they will give you a store credit so you can get something that you will be more satisfied with.
