Hip Maternity Clothes by Jessica Scott

jessicascottjacket.jpg A few weeks back we went searching for hip maternity clothes, but green at the same time. We admit we had a little bit of a hard time and then one of our readers, Brandy, recently wrote to tell us about Jessica Scott and we were definitely impressed. The husband and wife team provides stylish and attractive clothing as well as a few baby accessories for the eco-friendly mom-to-be. And not only do they design products that are environmentally and socially responsible, but they prove they are devoted to a healthy future for our little ones by donating 2.5% of their net profits to the Children’s Health Environmental Coalition (CHEC). CHEC lobbies for more effective public policies and also acts as a resource for parents. The organization provides parents with the knowledge they need to raise their children in a healthier environment so that no child will be exposed to products that contain ingredients known to cause harm to human health. I checked out the JessicaScott website. Very cute clothes, but how is "brushed lycra" good for the environment? Other than a few items made out of tencel, none of the clothes seemed to be made out of eco-friendly, sustainable fabrics. Or did they just fail to provide those important details?
