Toyota has released details on the changes in the 2006 Prius hybrid car. First of all, the MSRP will increase by $475, or 2.1%, to $21,725. The car will now include many new standard features and options, such as an audio package that includes MP3 player support and a mini-jack port, standard Tire Pressure Monitoring system as well as sensors that detect the size of the front seat occupants to determine whether or not to deploy the airbag. The headlights and taillights have been restyled and there's a front lip spoiler. Optional leather seating and a leather-wrapped steering wheel (not a very treehugger option...) are now available. Also new is the optional rear view camera and an upgraded GPS DVD navigation package that can now be used with voice-recognition while the Prius is in motion. Photos below.
