BuildingGreen's Top 10 Products for 2005

by Justin Thomas, Virginia on 11.12.05
Design & Architecture (materials)

Detail_Shelby_Bottoms_Park.jpgBuildingGreen.Com has chosen its top 10 green building products for 2005. Three of the winning products save energy, two save water, and three are made with recycled waste or bio-based material. Photos of the product can be found here, and details are available on this page. Pictured here are BioNet mats — they have a core of straw or straw and coir (coconut fiber) held by a woven jute netting and stitched with cotton thread. The mats are secured to the ground with biodegradable stakes made of either corn-derived polylactic acid (PLA) or wood. :: BuildingGreen press release via Land+Living
