Yamaha's Gen-Ryu Hybrid MotorcycleYamaha is bringing nine motorcycles to the 39th Tokyo Motor Show coming up later this month. One of the bikes will be the Gen-Ryu hybrid motorcycle prototype which combines the YZF-R6 600cc engine with a high output, high efficiency electric motor. Yamaha claims that the Gen-Ryu offers the running performance and handling of a 1,000-cc machine. :: Yamaha via Green Car Congress

Yes. They're called mopeds. Electric models are exceedingly better for the environment, because they burn absolutely NO gas, but the secondary power source may RELEASE gas, depending on what it had for lunch.

I'd suggest the ones that are modified bicycles, rather than those which are more like Vespas with worthless pedals.
