If our review of Dan Price's Radical Simplicity sent your mouse flying to the nearest on-line bookstore, then this article is for you. You can learn how to make a simple toilet--for survival or eco-efficiency or because your hobbit hole needs some amenties--from the thorough do-it-yourself instructions posted at the World Toilet Organization website. (Short aside: World Toilet Organization?) Thanks to the design efforts of Slovenian Andrej Pretnar, just a few easily obtainable raw materials and a couple minutes time is all that stands between you and an odorless, relatively functional toilet. Several design options suited for various needs are offered.
