Living Homes- Modernist Sustainable Prefab

A new prefab development company, "Living Homes" is being launched shortly- a prototype is being built now in Santa Monica. Designed by Ray Kappe, the house has many features that any treehugger would love- green roof, FSC certifed lumber, radiant floors, solar power. And, unlike most other prefabs on the market, these guys have land so you can actually buy a completed house on a real property, near Joshua Tree, CA.
We are off to Los Angeles for the weekend to participate in the Prefab Now conference at the Hammer Museum and look forward to reporting on this remarkable project in greater detail next week. ::Living Homes via ::Inhabitat
