FindSolar.Com Site Launched

Science & Technology (solar)

FindSolar.ComFindSolar.Com is an impressive new web site that helps answer two important questions: (1)Where can I find solar for my home or business? (2)How much will it cost? By entering your state and county, you get a detailed break-down of the costs for a solar installation, based on 3,100 electric utility rates, county-level solar radiation data, and any available local, state and federal tax incentives. Another useful featured of the site is the "Find a Solar Pro", which helps you locate a solar installer in your area. The types of installers include: solar electric (PV), solar domestic hot water and pool/spa heating. Nearly 400 solar energy system installers and other solar pros from around the country are currently listed, and hundreds more are expected to be added in the coming months. Overall, this is a great site with a lot of relevant information available for free. :: FindSolar.Com via Renewable Energy Access

It is disappointing when sites use these "click of doom" spatial navigation systems to find nearby items. For our area (NH) there isn't anyone in the county, but there well could be someone abutting the country, or even a mile away in Vermont. Rather than offer a proximity search it has us click through to a county only to find nothing, then we must back up to try another county, back and forth, maybe switch to another state. How many folks know the whole list of counties near them?
