ChemFree Toilet Bowl Cleaner

cleaner.jpg Okay so who here likes to clean the toilet bowl…that’s what we thought, who really does? So when our tipster, Julie A., sent us an evironmentally-friendly solution that could possibly cut down on the number of times we cleaned our toilet bowl, we said “hurray!” And we’re not talking about those cleaners that keep your bowl green for 100 flushes or whatever it is. ChemFree Toilet Cleaner uses it’s special “mineral magnets” to kill bacteria on contact and also prevents mineral stains, mildew and fungus buildup. You simply drop one into your clean tank (cleaned with an eco-friendly product, of course) and it’s good for 5 years or 50,000 flushes! They recommend using two for hard water, which Julie did, and in her words, “Wow, what a difference. Try it!” Via ::Gaiam

I just use plain old white vinegar - pour some in the bowl, come back 20 minutes later and scrub it with the brush. Works great, and handles hard water very well.

I've used this. It does not work. As far as I can tell, it's a total ripoff, designed to target gullible folks for whom magnetism = magic.

It sounds kinda like the [non-functional] clothes washer things that Real Goods used to sell. They used ions or some "scientific" sounding description to sucker in people.
