Wooden Duck Sustainable Furniture

woodenduck.jpgThe Wooden Duck was started in 1995 when the founders began importing recycled Teak furniture from Indonesia. Over the years, they have expanded their scope to include production in various countries throughout the world (India, Hungary, Slovakia and Poland), as well as offering local craftspeople working with reclaimed materials space to show and sell their furniture. Their factory in Berkeley produces a line of furniture made from recycled Douglas Fir, and is known for beautiful tables and custom pieces. Wooden Duck's principal goal is to offer high quality, simply styled furniture at the lowest prices possible while maintaining their commitment to the environment by using recycled materials whenever possible.

I have a bunch of furniture from The Wooden Duck - it is all wonderful and high quality. For people in the Bay Area, the have a once a year factory sale with incredible prices - deep discounts on whatever is in stock (not so much on orders).

We had a table made from the Wooden Duck factory and were pleased with the whole process. They had us come check out the recycled wood before they built it, had us come and check it out unfinished, and walked us through picking the color. They ended up matching the table to a drawer of a hutch we have in the dining room. Overall it was a great experience and we always refer them to our friends!
