The Street-Smart Naturalist

Want to see urban surroundings in a new light? The Seattlest recently interviewed David Williams, author of the The Street-Smart Naturalist. About the book, they say:
It's about the natural world, but not the natural world that exists out there on the peninsula or up in the mountains. This is the world we live in every day. Just like the title suggests, David picks his way through the neighborhoods of Seattle, exposing and illuminating the nature that slips through the cracks in the pavement. He's got a geology degree, actually, so he's liable to spend a few pages on the history of the pavement itself at any time.
