Silk and Hemp Cushions by Sharon Spain

by Justin Thomas, Virginia on 09. 5.05
Design & Architecture (living room)

aboutimage2.jpgSharon Spain creates these handmade, silk-screened cushions. Her prints tend to combine Asian minimalism with organic sensibility. For the covers she uses silk dupioni fabric or hemp linen. Each pillow comes in the eggshell-white fabric, and has a hidden zipper, and a removable feather and down insert. The cushions range in price from $65 to $105. :: Sharon Spain Textiles via design*sponge

There is often a mis-use of the phrase "asian minimalism. If you are referring to zen then that would be acceptable but most of Asian design is ornate, complex, and far from minimal.

It doesn't useful to use "zen" as a term for a type of interior decorating.
