flatpack.jpgDwell Magazine has announced the launch of its own custom designed modern prefabricated homes. The initiative is a collaboration with three architectural firms: Empyrean International LLC, Resolution: 4 Architecture, and Lazor Office. The average cost of a Dwell home will range between $175 to $250 per square foot depending on size and local labor costs :: Dwell Homes by Empyrean

I can't imagine what makes these "green". Though they say that they've taken into consideration all climatic conditions, an efficient house in Pheonix should be a very different thing than an efficient house in Seattle, not to mention the less measureable aspects of Place. And if you do the math, you'll see that at their lowest cost estimate these packages start at over $442,000.00! So much for the social equity part of the sustainability equation.
