Pigs Seen Attempting Flight Over Rockies

Perhaps this story comes under the "Wings of Truth Will Set You Free" banner. Rocky Mountain News carried a story today about a new direction in climate change policy. Well, almost. While at a Climate Change conference held at the Omni Iterlocken Resort, the Director of the US Climate Change Science Program said global climate change is ""probably the most important environmental issue facing the world...We know that humans are influencing the climate. There's no question about that," said James Mahoney, director of the U.S. Climate Change Science Program...."Not signing Kyoto doesn't mean that this government isn't doing anything," said Mahoney, who later amended his description of climate change to say it's "one of" the world's most important environmental issues"

wow. shocked! and bemused!
you don't think it has anything to do with the fact that the omni interlocken is where those groovy LOHAS summits are every year? something in the building's vibe? i mean, it can't be that climate change is real can it? what am i goingto do with my Global Climate Coalition membership card now?
jsut spin to disarm opponents for a short while - they acknowledge the problem but then deliberately confuse the issue with murky sciences & send out mixed signals to confuse everyone & then say xxx jobs would be lost, economy would collapse, people would have to pay 10 times as much for electricity etc. They are experts at manipulating, but ultimately this govt believes that after the rapture & after the earth has been cleansed, God will make a new pristine earth for the holy poeple to enjoy.

Easy to concur with Moo's assessment until you see this. http://www.noaa.gov/mahoney.html Mr Mahoney presents a good resume (to my eyes); and his formative years as a professional preceed the last two decades of noice machine output. Most likely he's buffeted between job pressures and his internal discipline, aquired from having a PhD in Meteorology from MIT and undergrad in Physics. I put him in the reality based camp therefore.
