Geeks Go Outside (maybe) - PSP Gets Solar

Although four hours of sunlight might be a bit too radical for many gamers, that how much sun juice this solar charger likes to get on board. Once that’s done it will recharge Sony’s PSP, a Nintendo DS or the GBA SP/GBA. Of course, any gamer worth their salt would bribe their little brother to take it outdoors until the 1800mAh Li-ion battery was full. Or they might even read the specs, which suggest it will also charge under indoor lighting. Hah, saved. No vitamin D required, after all. Not bad, really, for a 84 x 82 x 22 mm (3.3 by 3.2 by .86 inches) lump of plastic and silicon, that's roughly the same size as the devices it powers. The company even states: "Over its lifetime, Solio will ideally produce more energy than energy used in its construction. To help with this process trees have been planted in a bio-diverse sustainable forest to offset the carbon emitted during the Solio's production. The clever design of Solio also means that it can be easily dismantled and recycled when it reaches the end of its life."
