Xorel: Friendly Fabrics from Carnegie

There are a lot of textiles out there these days, and some of them are downright nasty. From manufacturing to disposal, there are lots of ways to be un-TreeHugger when it comes to home and commercial-use fabric; dioxins, chemical flame-retardants and chlorine bleach are just a few undesirables that can sneak out of textiles and into your home or office. Thank goodness for Carnegie Fabrics and their Xorel line of products. The award-winning line is clean from factory to home/office to waste stream: production of Xorel yarn emits substantially less carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxide, hydrocarbons, sulfur and dust, and when Xorel products are ready for disposal, they can be incinerated without emitting toxic gasses. Unbacked Xorel fabrics can also be recycled.
Xorel’s yarns are naturally non-absorbent and permanently repel liquid stains without added finishes, according to their website, and have anti-bacterial, antifungal and anti-staph characteristics.
