The guy who started Interface wrote a great book called Mid-Course Correction on his attempts transformed his "carpet" company into a corporate leader in envirnomental ethics. Here's the Amazon link: Mid-Course Correction

yeah.. Ray Anderson kicks ass! he's the example used in many books on greening businezzz.... he's one of the pivotal guys forming the Future500, there's loads of great info about him (and MANY others) in the the rainforest business lessons book.. and from what i heard, he got his inspiration reading that amazing Gorilla book

my only complaint is that they (interface) don't make stuff for homeowners... i think at this point their designs are great, the quality is there... it's just too bad that its priced nowhere near home consumer prices = (

littleCatalyst, the entire purpose of the FLOR line is to bring to the homeowner what has been available - from Interface as well as other companies - to the commercial customer for decades. You can order directly from interfaceflor.com or through Lowes (which has coupons and sales to reduce the cost, but not the full line). I will certainly grant that at $5-9 per square foot FLOR is expensive compared to generic wall-to-wall carpet - still cheaper than wood and most tiles though once installation is accounted for - but I've handled and walked on the product and I think it is a very good one if your tastes run to the contemporary end of the spectrum. And if you have pets prone to tossing their cookies on the carpeting, it's most certainly worth it! :-)
