Vibram manufactures more than 25 million shoe soles a year for companies such as L.L. Bean, REI and Rockport, to name a few. They are best recognized for outdoor, hiking, hunting and work shoes but lately they’ve also included fine casual and dress shoe soles as well. Over the past three years, Vibram has spent its time trying to figure out how to incorporate scrap rubber from its cutting-room floor into a new product and what they came up with was EcoStep. It will premier next fall on outdoor footwear, including Timberland boots. Thanks for the tip, Kyle R.! Via ::Men’s Journal (subscription) ::Vibram
