OK, we are not going to get into an episode of Bar Wars. But a reader did mention these, so we went and had a peek. And liked what we saw. No added sugars or sweeteners, non-GMO, no sulfites, no preservatives, no colorings, gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, vegan and kosher. And remarkably ... no cooking ! That’s a big energy plus. Maybe not the breadth of company wide eco-endeavours of some other bar businesses we’ve mentioned, but with only 3-6 ingredients per bar they are certainly doing some very impressive stuff. The bar highlighted here does use organic bananas and they are investigating using more organics but feel customers might baulk at the higher price of a 100% organic bar. Maybe TH readers can assist in their transition to such a product. ::Larabar by Humm Foods

I've tried two flavors of these bars: Gingersnap and Cherry Pie. I thought the Gingersnap was a overpowering in it's use of cloves and ginger, but the Cherry Pie was pretty darned tasty, but I happen to also like eating dried cherries as a snack. The bars are a little on the expensive side for my budget, but perhaps demand may bring the price down after a while.

These aren't bad. I have been buying a similar bar from Canada (found it on a skiing trip)called Perfect 10. Ten ingredients, nuts, fruits & seeds. Very tasty and again all natural and raw ingredients. I don't think its organic, but it is a treat to enjoy the taste of an energy bar for a change.

Perfect 10 Bars! I tasted a Cranberry Perfect 10 in Vancouver about two years ago and was pleased to see them in the States in Telluride, Colorado on my last trip there. Very clean taste, with ground flaxseed that's really great for you but SO hard to get in my diet. Their labels don't say they are organic but they're a super convenient way to get in fiber, omega-3s (very few products grind flaxseed!), and all that other great raw nutrition. love larabars! coca mole is wicked good - cant quite get over banana cookie, but thats me. i hate protein bars, and i sound like an ad for these things. but sweet enough - again, cherry pie - are sweet enough for people who eat junk food. awesome a plus. well, minus because they are wicked expensive.
