What we really like: Its in the City's new public square, an art project supported by the Canada Council for the Arts and the Conseil des arts et des lettres Quebec. Strong stuff for three levels of government to support. ::ATSA via ::if

In order to Divorce The Car, you need an electric vehicle, unless you plan to rely solely on public transit. Here are photos from Van. Elec. Vehicle Assn 2005 show
part of June is Bike Month events
Weather was wet, rain, drizzle, hail, and about
five full minutes of sunshine. Still, there were
some interesting ebikes and other battery driven
vehicles, including a Segway-skateboard and
e-chopper, and free treats for volunteers and
attendees who arrived on their non-polluting
vehicles (i.e. bicycles)

Great, let's give the Earth Liberation Front more bright ideas... Imagine what would happen in New Canaan, which on a bright sunny afternoon, is wall to wall SUVs up and down main street... except for the occasional Prius or Mini? It's interesting to realize that in affluent suburbia, where every home has at least two cars in the garage, that one is a Hummer or Explorer, and the other either a Prius or a Mini. They really missed their chance with the remake of the Stepford Wives to do a truly funny movie, as a solid commentary on today's suburban culture. Instead they "totally" blew it by making a pathetic carbon copy of the original... We had the robots and the homes solar powered in the script, but the director tore those pages out... not enough time, not enough money we were told. The only saving grace of that picture, as usual, was Christopher Walken, who's been the best thing in some of the worse pictures... He and Rutger Hauer (Bladerunner) should do a picture together... Check him out in the new Batman.
