SoyClean makes an all-natural, soy-based lubricant, which penetrates just as well as more toxic products. We're talking about the kind of lubricant you use on gears, valves and chains. When using it, there are no harmful fumes or vapors involved. And if you oil your bike with it, you won't be polluting your yard. It is priced at $6.49 for a 22oz spray bottle. SoyClean also makes soy-based paint strippers, strain removers, wood sealers and cleaners. Via MetaEfficient.

Clean Your BBQ Without Toxic Chemicals?
If a barbeque cleaning product is made from something as harmless as a soybean, how can it fight the tough grease and grime burned on your grill? CBS 47 put SoyClean’s BBQ and Grill Cleaner to the test on a dirty barbeque at a Fresno home. The results of our test may surprise you.
The SoyClean product is made from soybeans and contains only natural ingredients, which the manufacturers say will help people with allergies, asthma and sensitive skin clean their grills without exposure to harsh fumes or chemicals. The company says it will remove char, grease and burnt-on barbeque residue and cleans up with soap and water. The cleaner is also designed to work on smokers, stoves, barbeque utensils and pots and pans.
CBS 47 put SoyClean to the test at the home of Sylvia and Dan Banuelos. The couple has a massive backyard grill that was in need of a good cleaning. The Banuelos were skeptical about how well soybean oil could clean their barbeque, but they followed the directions: just shake and spray the lemon-scented cleaner, then let it penetrate for ten minutes.
Even before the time was up, Sylvia and Dan could actually see the grease and grime starting to dissolve. Our testers said they were surprised to find that SoyClean did a better job than the toxic cleaners they used to use with a power washer. Once ten minutes had passed, the couple wiped the grill with paper towels, and used a wire brush on tough spots. Suddenly, they were looking at a clean barbeque.
“The other good thing about this is, if it’s organic, you don’t have to worry about the chemicals that get on, and you can cook right after and you don’t have to worry about the chemicals getting in your food,” Dan said.
SoyClean’s manufacturer says it’s still a good idea to wipe down the grill with soap and water before you throw on any burgers or hot dogs. Dan and Sylvia say they’re impressed, and they won’t go back to the old products they were using.
“I think it’s what I’ve been waiting for,” Dan said.
“It’s a lot easier
