Biodegradable Leaf Bags

Many communities have banned the use of regular plastic bags for yard waste removal, because polyethylene-based plastic bags can not be composted with the yard waste or burned. The best solution is to allow wet grass clippings be left on the lawn, where the clippings will quickly biodegrade and add nutrient value to your lawn. Another alternative has been to use paper bags for collection. But paper bags have storage issues, they are small and do not hold up well in wet weather.

Composing yard waste quickly reduces the bulk to a managable amount and kills weed seeds. The problem with leaving clippings in a lawn is the distribution of weed seeds through the lawn, composting solves this problem and creates valuable organic matter that is useful for lawn and garden.
