TreeHugger Welcomes Writer Michaël Graham Richard from Canada
by Michael Graham Richard, Ottawa, Canada
on 05.17.05
Michael has been with TreeHugger since 2005. He started out as a part-time writer, but after about a year (circa February 2006) he made the transition to full-time editor-in-chief. He played that role until January 2008 (the highlight of this period was of course the acquisition of TreeHugger.com by the Discovery Channel), and he's now editor of the Science & Technology and the Cars & Transportation categories (his two main loves).
He's also the editor of Discovery Green.
It was reading The Ecology of Commerce by Paul Hawken and Good News For A Change by David Suzuki and Holly Dressel that changed his life. Before that, he knew about the problems, but didn't think too much about them. After, he knew there were solutions and couldn't think about anything else. Michael strongly believes that making sustainability mainstream is the thing to do first because governments and corporations will follow their voters and customers. This revolution has to move from the bottom up.
Michael's personal blog can be found at MichaelGR.com.
His Twitter account is Michael_GR.
