Treehugger Photo Contest

Take Action (events)

solowindfarm.jpgOk, we have had no new submissions for two days and there are a lot more pictures out there. We publish solo's today- a wind farm near Palm Springs, CA. We are going to up the ante by announcing a prize- our personal copy of "Monsanto House of the Future". This 12 minute heartbreaking work of staggering genius projects a 1957 family into the distant future, living in a plastic house, with plastic furniture and plastic clothes. It is truly a lost classic, a vision of the future, up there with Sleeper and Metropolis. Enter the Treehugger Windfarm Photo Contest.

I am all for alternative energy sources, but am I the only one that finds wind farms downright ugly (visual pollution)?

Thanks for posting my photo!

Yes... I ahve thought the same. However, the wind farms are doing good and they do no permanent damage to the area.

They are only there for a brief moment in the grand scheme of things.
