The entries are pouring in for the Treehugger Photo Contest. Today we present Stewart Russell's shot of the Windshare Cooperative turbine on the Toronto waterfront. "WindShare was started to provide an opportunity for citizens to generate Green Power in Ontario's new deregulated electricity marketplace."- The public could invest in the project and expect a return both in money and power. We will follow up to see how it is turning out for investors. ::Windshare
We also post this picture because we shot the same one, on our first post about the competition., but it is not yet on Flickr because they check out new subscribers before posting their pictures. We will be there eventually.... ::Treehugger Windfarm entries by [LA]

I should probably point out that I'm a director of WindShare, too.
Have you seen this RenewableEnergyAccess story titled " U.S. Senators Mount Assault on Wind Power"?
Given the quote (from Sen. Alexander) that “Congress should not subsidize the destruction of the American landscape” ... I'd say your photo contest is right on time.
Given recent news, the "wind map" and so on ... I find this bill quite astonishing.
I mean, even if you think (hypothetically) that a wind farm is too ugly for some pristine shoreline ... do you really think all shorelines are pristine? Who on earth would back a blanket ban, on the assumption that ... the San Pedro harbor (or whatever) is to beautiful to despoil?
Sorry.
