Tote Le Monde Recycled Bags

12525871_a415b8bf25.jpgTote Le Monde makes vibrantly colored bags like this one and other accessories out of recycled plastic. (My wife gives them the thumbs up.) Tote Le Monde was created by Tia Wou and Anna Aliaga, in 1994. Their aim was to create "environmentally friendly, durable, functional yet fashionable carryall, thus introducing the American Market Tote Collection made out of recyclable plastic." They also support "carrying you own bag", instead of using the ubiquitous plastic bags retailers are glad to provide. This bag is available for $44. :: Tote Le Monde via Design*Sponge [by Justin Thomas]

Hey--while these bags /are/ great, they're not actually made from recycled plastic. I wrote the company to clear this up, since their website makes much of the bag's being recyclable. O well.
