Speed Record for Electric Cars to be Challenged
by TreeHugger on 05. 5.05
A British team is about to challenge the six-year-old record for fastest electric vehicle (245 MPH) , racing down a Nevada state highway closed today for the occasion. The car has two motors from ABB Ltd., a variable speed transmission and 52 12 Volt car batteries- a lot of lead but at least they are rechargeable. This sounds better than the previous winner, where the car was powered by thousands of AA batteries. ::Guardian or :ABB by [LA]

Great leap for an electric car.
What would be more useful is to achieve the same amount of mileage between recharging.
Great leap for an electric car.
What would be more useful is for it to work.
The Buckeye Bullet has already gone 320+ mph, and holds the US and world records. They don't spend as much money on publicity, and their car works.
Hats off to the Buckeye bullet for its speed, but the ELIICA can whiz five adults silently and in luxurious comfort to a speed of 230 mph (0-60 mph in 4 seconds9. Check it out!
