Sogreni - Bicycle Trouser Clip, and More

by TreeHugger on 05.11.05
Cars & Transportation

Sogeni-Trouserclip.jpgWhile researching another story, we happened upon these guys. And they are a happening thang. Not content to craft some high end ‘designer’ bicycles and associated accoutrements, Sogreni have recently branched out into .... wait for it .... bathroom and kitchen fittings! But back to the trouser clip. A cool way of keeping your hems from tangling in the chain of your human powered steed. For the princely sum of DKK 149 you can wrap this clip of aluminim and silicone around your shin. Handmade in Copenhagen, Denmark, (and shipped in a timber box lined with wood shavings), as best as we can ascertain. ::Sogreni [by WM]

DKK 149 is about USD 25.60 at today's rate.

While I like the design, I think I'll stick to tucking my pants leg into my sock on my way into work. I should note that I usually ride into work. Those few days when I drive, I probably will not tuck.

This really is too much. Just use a frickin' rubber band (what I do) or do the pants-in-sock trick.

Too much? Yes. But encouraging that there are parts of the world where bicycles are used enough and in such ways that bike bling is even a salable product.

God dam it, they've gone to far this time.

jump to top old man says:

I suppose people will find themselves having to lock it up with their bike too. I see it is made with a "silicone band".

USE A RUBBER BAND AND DONATE THE $25 TO STARVING PEOPLE IN AFRICA!!

You could make your own out of elastic and a duffel coat button; it's a nice design solution to a problem. I use an Ikea velcro cable tie.

It could double as a self defence half-numchuck.

jump to top ventifact says:

Ha! I think its cool, a bit over priced, but still has a Bang&Olufsen touch to it. You gotta love that. Sure a rubber band would do, but so would a Wal-Mart bike. I didn't buy a Wal-Mart bike...

jump to top trackhub_zealot says:

I think we are all over looking the goal. As long as you are riding then who cares how you keep the pantleg clean. Ride and love the fact that someone has actually ran into the grease on the leg, and took the time to put their own twist on keeping it clean. Spend your money on what you want. Not for me but its a cool dodad.
