Jon Wiggers specializes in contemporary and Art Deco inspired furniture design. His furniture combines exotic veneers with unusual inlays such as purfling, metal, glass, stone and mother-of-pearl. The wood is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). In his travels John has met a variety of aboriginal peoples, from the Kogi of the remote mountains of Columbia in South America to the Haida of the Pacific North-West in Canada. These experiences have given John insight into the ancient knowledge held by many aboriginal cultures, including some of the traditional holistic and medicinal uses of various plants and trees from the forest. This influence manifests in John's design aesthetic by way of subtle manipulations of natural forms and materials. You can see the Wiggers collection on the Vivavi web site, and read more the furniture here. [by Justin Thomas]
