100% Recycled Copper Fire Pit

u_ua_91000_pool_2.jpgThis fire pit is made of 100% copper recycled from demolition sites in Turkey. The reclaimed copper is handcrafted by coppersmiths in that country. Unfortunately transporting products from distant countries is not all that Treehugger-like. Too bad someone doesn't do the same thing locally. The fire pits have a melting point of 1700 F. Burning wood (except maybe in high efficiency fireplaces like this one) isn't very treehugger-like either ;)

The Quebec environmental ministry had a report that burning wood for 9 hours is the equivalent of driving a car for 20,000kms as far as emissions are concerned (IIRC).
