PSS Handbags: Bag, Borrow or Steal

Science & Technology (product service system)

bbors.jpg Here’s one more for us to add to our PSS (Product Service Systems) list so ladies, listen up. Think Netflix for this one. Have you dreamed about the new Hobo you want to show off at work? Yup. Loving that new kitschy beaded purse, perfect for your latest fundraiser ball? Without a doubt. Bag, Borrow or Steal is gonna make these “must haves” possible for you – without even spending a ton of money. Here’s how it works:

First, you have to check out their website. Each bag they have is original (no fakes here) and are either in “new” or “like new” condition. Bag, Borrow or Steal has a very high standard, so rest assured that they inspect each one carefully before it leaves their closets. Next, you have to become a member. Membership options depend on whether you are a “Trendsetter” or a “Deluxe Diva” and costs range from $19.95 - $149.95. The good news for the “Trendsetter” is that you can borrow an unlimited amount of bags per month, but only one at a time. As a “Deluxe Diva” you’re allowed up to two at a time but have special access to the “Diva Closet” (aka, the more expensive handbags). We aren’t going to go into every detail, but we think you catch our drift. So after you choose your fave, or the one you need for the special occasion, you’ll receive it in the mail within the week. Now you can keep this one as long as you’d like, or, after you’re tired of it (which we are sometimes quite quickly), go online and pick another. But don’t worry, you don’t have to go one minute without one tucked under your arm. Upon receipt of your new bag comes a return label so you can send the old bag back – or simply upgrade to keep it.

“But what if I fall in love with it and just don’t want to give it back” you ask. Keep in mind the word “Steal” is in the title here. While you have your bag(s), check the “virtual closet” often to see if a button called “Steal It!” is next to it and if so, click on it darn it! This will automatically send a message to the Bag, Borrow or Steal team to let them know you’re interested, and they’ll respond with a price that’s sure to be a Steal! Voila! Yes, we ladies can be high maintenance, but here’s a great PSS product because sometimes, we don’t really need to own everything – but we can want it and have it for just a little while. ::Bag, Borrow or Steal [by KD]

This company does not belong on this site. I thought the purpose for this site was nontoxic, animal friendly, progressive products! Some of these bags are gaudy leather and wasteful!

well there are several ways in which something could be friendly, and the re-use of something is a very cool concept. I think if you choose the bags that are friendly you could do your part.
If only I lived in the states!!

Advertising shouldn't be on here especially for a copy that's been sued by Gucci for offer fake bags that could be supporting terrorist acts for all we know.

This SPAM building owners should not be allowed anywhere near blogs that serve a purpose.

This blog was created to sell stuff. Buy something from any of these links - this person gets the commission for the purchase. There is nothing wrong with that. It's capitalism. I think that the idea of recycling in this manner is fun. Not all environmental friends are vegans or anti-leather. There are different levels, and everyone is entitled to follow there own comfort level. Bag Borrow or Steal offers non-leather bags too. And they have not been in trouble for fake bags, as someone else suggested.

That's my two cents...

I have seen another site that borrows bags called frombagstoriches.com. I am not a big bag person, but I wanted something for a wedding and didn't want to have to pay a 3 months membership for just one bag for one occassion. I got the coolest new Louis Vuitton and looked like a million bucks!

Lisa-

You should do some research before correcting any comments on this blog. Here's the link you need concerning an investigative report on bag borrow or steal and the case brought against them by Gucci.
