We do go on about the fact that prefab homes can be more energy and material efficient, and have considerably less impact on the environment. However, the current craze is design-driven. Where normally the talents of a top name architect would be unavailable for a smaller residence at affordable prices, through prefab and mass production the work of someone like Frank Gehry can be.
