Earth Day Dinner
by on 04.13.05

Here’s a new twist on Earth Day. Instead of planting a tree this year, Organic Valley (an organic food company) and award-winning author Douglas Love are suggesting that you throw an Earth Day Dinner. They suggest that you invite friends or family for a potluck and ask them to bring their favorite family recipe. One other thing, it has to be made with fresh and local ingredients. Organic Valley believes that this is a way for people to come together to appreciate the role that food plays in our lives, family history and to recognize the real force behind the food we eat - the local farmers. Download a pack of Earth Cards from the website and use them as conversation starters. Topics include stories about recipes, haiku’s and questions to inspire memories and creativity. You can also find recipes ideas for your Earth Day Dinner on Organic Valley's website. ::Earth Dinner [by KD]

If you haven't yet figured out how to go vegan, make absolutely sure your meat and dairy is not produced on a factory farm, which contributes to over a third of air pollution, and over half of water pollution. More info.
