American Flatbread Company

Pizza has become a staple in the American diet and when we saw this in the local grocery store, packaged in what looked like a real pizza box with just simple black and white lettering, we weren’t really sure what to expect. But, it came recommended and word of mouth is usually a pretty good start. We tried the Organic Tomato and Three Cheese and it was mmm mmm good! American Flatbread Company is located in the Mad River Valley of Vermont on historic Lareau Farm...
Each flatbread is made by hand from organic ingredients and there are currently six varieties available. Ingredients come from local farmers and all of their products are packaged, marketed and distributed in an environmentally friendly way. Now if you ever decide to visit the Green Mountains, plan a trip to American Flatbread because the bakery becomes an informal, year-round restaurant, but only on Friday and Saturday evenings. The Waitsfield location is attached to Lareau Farm Country Inn and guests dine in the Oven Room where they can watch the bakers and cooks as they prepare each flatbread to order. Recently, the company opened a second location in Middlebury, VT and each week, at both restaurants, American Flatbread’s chief gourmets create new specials to be enjoyed. The weekly menus can be found online and let’s just say we might have to make a trip up there soon. My husband and I love this pizza! It tastes very fresh for a frozen pizza. Our local Whole Foods carries several of the different flavors :-)
better is the trip to Waitsfield on a fall or summer evening the oven cooking the campfire outside a good group of friends some punctuated equilibrium and the specials of the day. On the other hand just buy the frozen Pizza and don't ruin my good thing
