Introducing The Other Half Of TH’s Barcelona Team: Leonora Oppenheim

by Leonora Oppenheim, London, UK on 03.31.05
TH Exclusives (about)

Leonora has always pursued a creative career, but it was not until her stint studying Design at Goldsmiths College in London, that her ambitions and motivations for being a designer were set on their current course. She found herself 'born again' into the world of eco-design and sustainability, and as a relatively recent 'convert' is now finding writing for Treehugger an education in itself. To date Leonora has worked on design projects for Thomas Heatherwick Studio (London), Marcel Wanders Studio (Amsterdam), Atelier Van Lieshout (Rotterdam), Niall O'Flynn Designers (Barcelona) and with fellow TreeHugger Petz Scholtus for Demotech (Netherlands). She also writes weekly for the online design magazine Cool Hunting.

Not one to sit still for long, in the past few years Leonora has divided her time between London, Amsterdam and Barcelona. During the last year she has gone further afield reporting for TreeHugger whilst travelling in New Zealand, North and South America. Leonora has recently returned to London after an amazing experience working on design projects for the Kallari Association in Ecuador, an indigenous grassroots organisation. Leonora is particularly interested in developing sustainable design projects with artisan communities using traditional craft techniques .
Leonora can be contacted at leonora [at] treehugger [dot] com.
